Miracle Morning

One of my clients recommended the Miracle Morning to me and, based on her description, I immediately decided to order it. I am not really a big fan of self-help books (for myself- if others find them useful, by all means!). But this one called to me both in its message (WE control our lives therefore WE have to fix anything that isn’t working) and in its simplicity (even I can commit to doing six simple things each morning). Once I got the book, it appealed me on an even more personal level which I will detail below.

On February 7, 2018, I was driving to work with my daughter and my 7-month-old grandson. We were travelling 55 mph on a narrow highway when the driver of a semi-truck heading in the other direction had a heart attack and died at the wheel. In a split second, his vehicle changed course and came barreling down the highway toward my smallish SUV gaining speed with every passing moment. I have no idea how fast it was going when it finally hit us but I do know the crash pulverized my vehicle.

Thankfully, everyone in my vehicle survived and my grandson wasn’t even injured (thank God for car seats). Sadly, bystanders were unable to revive the poor driver of the semi and at the young age of 47, he was pronounced dead at the scene. My daughter and I sustained non-life-threatening injuries. While we still struggle with those injuries, at least we have our lives- something that feels like a huge gift every single day.

The author of The Miracle Morning, Hal Elrod, also survived a terrible car accident that changed his life. The event was the catalyst for him writing this book. Even if you only get a few things out of it, it might be worth the read. ❤️❤️❤️
