30-Days

This week’s blog is about living better, trying harder and being happier. In many ways, 2022 was the absolute worst year ever. Even beyond the pandemic and political turmoil, my life this year has been a rollercoaster of trauma, loss and profound grief. And sometimes, even when you lean in, things just keep on being hard. So what do you do?

I’m no stranger to sadness – few people are. It’s the rare individual who can live half a century and not experience profound loss. And while leaning in helps, sometimes we require more than that to feel better. So today I am committing to 30 days of positive living. I’m going to eat better, exercise more and embrace joy as much as I possibly can. For 30 days I commit to facing my problems head on so they can be resolved in the most efficient way possible. It’s time for a total reset. Won’t you join me?

Most of us know exactly what will make us happier. We know that good nutrition, regular exercise and minimal (or no) use of substances like alcohol are the keys to living a more rewarding life. Yet we choose inaction over taking charge. We live our lives in default mode and then beat ourselves up when things feel rotten. How about we don’t do that anymore?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Most people understand this to be true. It’s not really rocket science, is it? So today I’m challenging you to disrupt those patterns. Put yourself first for a change. Stop worrying about appearances and start worrying about your sense of well-being. You absolutely have the power to transform your life. We all deserve to be happy but it takes work. Now let’s do the work!
